I am heading to Ottawa next month to have a weekend of drunken debauchery downtown with the SWMBO. Is there any bars in the market or close that would have some beer on tap that isn't brewed by Labatt's or Molson?

Was in Ottawa 2 weekends back for the Animation Festival. But wasn't with a beer drinking crowd, so didn't discover much. Of the places we did dine at:

Chez Lucien was the best (Murry St near Dalhousie) - very good pub food, ok selection on tap, but busy
Higlander Pub (Byward Market) - Scottish theme, seemed to have ok selection, but wasn't impressed by what I tried beer-wise or food-wise
There was another on Waller just off Rideau, can't remember the name, looked like an old chateau from the outside, but was nothing when you got in

For breakfast, Cora's on Rideau was the favorite.

Pub Italia on Preston St. has its own Beer Bible. Literally hundreds of beers, including genuine Trappist Beers. You can view the beer listing online!

If you're looking for the best selection, that's the place.
