I finally purchased a brewing kit off of craigslist! :rockin:

I have some Planet Dishwashing Liquid and I am wondering if it would be acceptable to use for cleaning the kit up. Planet's ingredients are coconut oil based cleaners, salt, and sodium bicarbonate. It is certified biodegradable, unscented and uncolored. The kit also came with One Step for sanitizing.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Well, just be sure to rinse it very, very well. Soaps can kill the head on your beer.

For the future, buy a tub of unscented Oxyclean and you'll be good to go.

I would not worry about your dish soap. If it gets things clean and rinses off well (and isn't that the point of dish soap?), it's done its job - the sanitizer is where you need to be more careful, but if you're using something reputable like one step, you should be fine there as long as you follow the directions.
