I'm using a plastic ferminter and just bottled my first batch and I cleaned my buckets but the ferminter still has a very strong smell do I need to worry about this affecting my next batch in any way if so how can I get rid of it

If you really cleaned out well and used a CLEANER not a sanitizer then no. Once you sanitize you kill the bugs and the wort displaces air. Quick chill and a good pitch and the yeast wins the war for scarce resources. That was how beer was made before worrying!
