So, I just finished bottling my first mead. I went to my LBHS (MoreBeer) and picked up some 375ml bottles, some T-corks (the plastic topped corks you push in by hand), and some shrink toppers to make them presentable to friends and family.

I am fairly certain that with wine, you should store it lying down so the cork does not dry up.

Should I do the same with mead and these T-corks?

Since it is a plastic cork I would assume it doesn't matter if you store it on its side or standing up. But you know what they say about assuming...

I'm sorry. I don't think I explained the corks adequately.

It is an actual cork that has a plastic top.

i would store them on the side.
i personally don't like those corks. they are also called tasting corks, easy to take off and put back on. they do not seal very well. if its on their side you should see if it leaks or not.

personally i would take them all off and fit something better.
