Wow that was fun! I made my keggle this morning and brewed EdWorts Haus Pale Ale. It even attracted a new neighbourhood cat who enjoyed licking the spills from the mash tun.

I only ended up with 4 Gallons of wort with an SG of 1.060. Ed's recipe calls for 5.5 gallons at 1.051.
Should I top it up with water to bring up the volume and reduce the SG?
If so, is there a way to calculate how much water to meet the required SG?

Thanks.

There's a tool in Beersmith that would help you with that. I ran the numbers, and if you want an sg of 1.051, you can add .75 gallon. If you just want to top off to 5 gallons, you'd have an s.g. of 1.048.

Good job on the first AG! Edworts Pale Ale is up next for me! :mug:
