So, I wanted to get my friend into the homebrew scene and I gave him my old Mr. Beer setup. We made a simple dark ale and then we bottled it. It looked good, tasted good, smelled good. A week later, we cracked them open and there was no carbonation. Zero. None. Like dark brown tap water. We primed each 22oz bottle with 1-1/2 tsp cane sugar, which has been successful with me since I started.

So, what could have gone wrong and how do I fix it? We still have a bit of beer in the primary with trub ad the bottom, we could add more yeast and sugar into the bottles and recap, but I'm not sure how great of an idea that is.

Just put them in an area that stays around 70* and give them more time. Sometimes it takes more than a week to get carbonation. Definitely make sure it isn't to cold though and all should be fine.
