Is it supposed to spin that fast? I had never seen one in action before, but I imagined it would spin slower. My understanding is that you want to slowly add water and slowly drain it out.
 
does anyone have a DIY rotating sparge arm? I was really woundering if it was worth it to have it rotating

I believe that I can build one if it is simply based on conservation of momentum of a little of the liquid (running from the sides) pushing it along.

Any DIY advice / pictures would be appreciated.
