Hello all,
I'm am attempting a propane burner build using 6 multi orifice jets. I've made up a manifold using 3/8 pipe in a 6 way cross pattern ( 3x3 ) with an inlet that has a parker needle valve to adjust flow. I've found that my supply hose and regulator will only flow a small amount of propane so I converted the inlet that you screw into the tank to flow more gas. BAD idea. Not only did I almost burn my arm hairs off, I almost gave my Harleys factory paint job a new burnt orange hue:drunk: What I did observe was that I cant get that nice high pressure type blue flame. I think I may need to modify the pipe to flow atmospheric air like the bayou burner. Anyone have anything to add?
I really would like to build this type of burner to handle my 10 gallon Mega pot. I had alot of the parts laying around with a few store bought pieces from Lowes ( trying to keep the budget at a minimum )

It sound like you may have an air/fuel mixture problem. I can't really advise with the limited information you provided. I'm wondering why you don't simply buy a burner casting instead of making one from scratch. The burners are dirt cheap and very easy to hook up. Something like this would get your 10 gallon Megapot rockin' for sure:

You can run this type of burner with either a high or low pressure regulator, but you must also use the corresponding orifice. This regulator includes the high pressure orifice that you will need: http://www.agrisupply.com/product.asp?pn=64640&sid=&eid=
