I tried again to make mozz with store bought milk.

It will be the last time I buy milk to make cheese with. I will be going with straight from the cow goodness from this point forward with my chesse efforts. I'm tired of fighting substandard ingredients in order to produce a sub-standard product.

I never could get the whey out of the curds.

Yes, I added CaCl, yes I let it sit after I added the rennet.

Guess I better go get my milking stool.

Where do you get straight from the cow milk and don't give me an obvious answer of "the cow". Interested if certain places sell it.

I get the straight from the cow stuff, literally, from the source. I live on a working beef cattle farm, and next door is a working dairy.

We trade labor, and beef, and "pet food" all the time.
