I made a perry today, i took a reading of my pear juice and it was 1.050. When I go to add it to BeerSmith with the qty(in oz) of juice it says my est SG should be 1.159. This can't be.... can anyone help me???
BTW i didn't take a OG reading, so i'm just looking to ballpark it. Thanks

Did you use fresh pears to make your juice or was it store bought? If you used fresh pears and they were past their prime, you may not have gotten enough sugar out to hit 1.159. It's pretty hard for any program to calculate how much sugar will be in the fruit you buy, so I'd just use it as an estimate.
