So I know these Closed Head Drums are okay (i.e. food safe) for fermenting in. The description even says they meed FDA and USDA standards (whatever that means... LOL). I know many of you are using these already.

What I'm curious about are these Open Head Drums. The description is lacking the FDA and USDA notice that the other one has. Anyone know if these are good to go?

I'm interested in the 15gallon size, but would prefer and open head design for ease of cleaning.

Thanks!

I would avoid any drums without a food rating because some of these cheaper plastics will leech in to your beer.

Looks like you could install a spigot near the bottom and an airlock on top and it would make a great fermenter!
