Hi,

i was wondering if there is something like a beer brewing file format?
Something totally generic that helps you keep the ingredients and beer instructions at the same place. And of course something that will cleverly support you in the process of brewing if you don't have a fully automated system. I think of something like a Gantt chart.
The same format should of course be used with your fully automated brew system.

All I have seen so far at the controller side, is entering temperature curves and times in a relatively crude and usually very limited way directly on the unit.

I was just wondering if there is already something like this available.

Welcome to HBT yadda yadda.

There's BeerXML, which is a recipe/ingredient/procedure format, but it's the software that uses it that makes it useful. You can describe a mash schedule in just a few bytes; it's up to the brewer('s fully automated system) to know what to do with the data.

Wow, that exceeds my expectations by magnitudes.
There are even many software implementations that already use it.
