The power went down earlier than I expected. I have a well and pump, so no power means no water means no brewing. But no problem. Necessity is the mother of invention. With some ropes and buckets I rigged up a piece of clean plastic sheeting and gathered about 20 gallons of rain water from Hurricane Sandy as she passed and luckily before the winds really kicked up. I brewed an IPA with the rain water, and Hurricane Sandy IPA was born. Making the best of a bad situation.

No power now at home for 2 days, and lots of trees down, but I am 50 miles inland so we were spared the worst of it. I feel very fortunate. My thoughts and prayers go out to those poor folks along the coast who took on the worst of the storm.
