How can I add strawberry flavor to my cider?

I have a batch of cider that I just transferred into secondary. I really want to add some strawberry to add some additional flavor. Can I just chop up some strawberries into the secondary and let them sit? What about bacteria or yeast that might be on the strawberries? Also, how much strawberry would it take to add some flavor to 5 gallons of cider?
 
3-4 lbs of frozen strawberries are your best bet. Freezing ruptures the cell walls and maximizes flavor.
