I have a brand new fermenter and botteling bucket. Do I need to was them or just sanatize?

I'd wash and santitise to be sure. Use a soft cloth though, nothing abrasive.

Yes, I agree...fill up the bottling bucket to make sure it seals...we don't want any brew puddles.
I'd say you need to clean and sanitise anything that is not going to be boiled.

With new buckets you need to check the top rim and make sure there is no "extra" plastic runover from the mold.
Sometimes you have to take an exacto knife and trim it off so your lid will seal.

ALWAYS WASH any new anything. Both metal and plastic forming uses lubes of some kind. You'll want to get the residue off. Not to mention the exposure to some immigrant shipping clerk with the creeping crud exuding from his pores....
