Anyone ever had a fowl smelling fermentation with this strain? As soon as it started fermenting it reeked of a smell almost like rotten eggs. This is my first Oktoberfest, and my first fowl ferment.... Fowl for my nose.... The SWMBO thinks they all stink.

some lagers have a very sulfurous smell it is normal and will age out. Next time you could try pitching more yeast and fermenting at a lower temperature, this cuts down on the smell a little bit.

well I have it at 46F and I just so happen to lift the lid and take a sniff.. Its not stinking the place up or anything, the SWMBO hasn't said anything so... Its all good. BTW this is only my second Lager Strain to use so that must be the reason I am not familiar.
