I'm doing the requiem raspberry recipe right now...I'm a little confused as to which it is that brewers would generally go by when writing these recipes? US or Imperial Gallons?
Us Gallons. This site is hosted in the USA. Other sites might be different, but I have never come across a recipe in Imperial gallons. I have seen many recipes in Liters though.
