An airlock is just a vent, a valve to release excess co2. It's not a fermentation gauge. Sometimes they don't bubble. It doesn't mean anything. Fermentation is slowing as more and more sugar has been consumed, and consequently the yeast are farting less, so there's less EXCESS co2 needing to be venting out. Nothing more.

In a few days you can take a gravity reading if you want. But remember an airlock is not a gauge.

The best way to check it is with a hydrometer...though after 24 hours you can just look in the bucket...there should still be foam on the top of the liquid. If that's the case then you must have a leak somewhere, causing you not to see bubbles in your airlock. Contrary to what a lot of people parrot on here, though, the airlock IS a good general guage if your bucket is relatively leak free. It's by no means a replacement for a hydrometer though.
