I am about to embark on my first batch of home brewed beer. I found an old pot in storage. It is a granite ware pot.

Columbian Home 0707-1 Granite Ware 21-1/2-Quart Steel/Porcelain Water-Bath Canner with Rack

Will the be fine to cook my wort in?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the quick response, i will be BOILING my wort in a few days.

also, check out the definition of cook.

to prepare by the use of heat, as by boiling, baking, or roasting. - Bazinga

I just might be cooking my wort

You may scorch it if you don't stir when you're adding it but have fun cooking wort either way. =]

Just make sure the porcelain coating isn't cracked or chipped exposing the metal underneath. The metal isn't typically stainless steel, so it will rust.
