Admittedly, I don't brew much, if at all during the spring or summer. My last brew day was last March. It's getting cold again and I'm 'gearing up' to start brewing again.

That being said, I have quite a bit of grain left from last season, all well stored, plastic ziplocs, twist tied bags, all stored in plastic bins.

Some of it milled, some of it not. I started working with all grain last year and I'm not sure how long this stuff keeps.

What can I keep? What should I pitch? More importantly, why should I pitch it?

Thanks!

If you have a large amount of a particular grain you can always put these in platic bags and then store these in a food safe bucket. Walmart sells 5 gallon food grade plastic buckets for $3-$4.

I keep mine in 5 gal Home Depot buckets lined with a trash bag and a lid. Keeps well and hasn't gone stale. Don't pitch... use it up, you'll be alright. :)
