I got passed over like a chump because I happened to be out of the country when he did it. So angry.

You have no idea what I'd do for some EKG right about now, Lorena.

Hmmmm, Oh, really? Whatcha got to trade?

I got them because it was such an awesome deal, and of course I plan on using them. But I have a total of 10 ounces now, and would be happy to share with you since you sent me some of the most amazing beers I've ever had. PM me if you want to have a little bit of my bounty!

And.........post a recipe using them!!!

I missed out on the EKG but did score some Tett and put them to good use in a hefe over the weekend.

PM sent about possible EKG relief, Evan.

I'll be brewing up koelsch and a dry stout for starters. I'm also thinking about re-brewing my rye pale ale with one or the other. I'm sure more ideas will come.

If you like ESB's and have some EKG's around try my Full Owl.
Ed and Muncher will be getting a sample of this soon so I hope for some good feedback, but I think it's damn near identical to Fullers.

To make it the way it's supposed to be use Target for bittering( I can never find it)

crooked rooster english style IPA.... you can replace the fuggle with EKG here. http://homebrewtalk.com/showthread.php?t=65976

I broke into the tett with this one. You could use all tett for this recipe if you dont have saaz. I dont know how it will turn out yet but it smells good! http://homebrewtalk.com/showthread.php?t=67098

That's not a SMaSH recipe for sure;)

I use tettnanger in almost all of my hefeweizens. I also used some in a recent koelsch and some in a belgian brew.

EKG is good for any english beers...especially stouts. i find it accents the chocolate flavors.

Wow...normally I just boil some DME for my starters, but brewing a whole batch? That's hardcore!:p
:cross:

Actually, I will do that when I brew the 999 barleywine. My 'Starter' will be five gallons in size -- probably a nice rye ale.

BierMuncher, I'm putting this one (Cream of Three Crops Cream Ale) on the agenda. What yeast can I substitute and how do you get the final gravity so low. The best I can do is 1.010

Give it a good 90 minute mash to get a lower final gravity. That extra 30 minutes makes a big difference.

Use any American yeast. I just used the Safale - 05.
