So I'm going to finally build a brew stand. I do 10 gallon all grain batches using kegs for all 3 vessels. I'm thinking I will do a two tier stand so I can get away with one pump and let the HLT gravity flow into the MLT. I currently have a low pressure burner that looks like this, the regulator says 10 psi and is adjustable.

I was thinking of using a hurricane burner on the kettle and two smaller burners similar to the one I have on the HLT and MLT. My initial thought was to use low pressure burners since I have the regulator already, but I'm not certain that low pressure can support the same amount of BTU's as high pressure. So I am currently thinking one of these

and two of these

Are these the hurricane burners that suposedly put out 210000 BTUs?

I don't know which regulator to get this one says 1-15 psi but up to 750000BTU

This one is higher pressure 30 but only supports 145000 BTU

So it seems that neither is suitable. Also I need a tank fitting This one only supports 75000 BTU and I haven't found other.

So what regulator would you guys suggest? Am I close or way off base?

Low pressure burners are messured in in. WC or pressures bellow 1psi. A typical low pressure propane regulator will have two parts resulting in 11 in. WC.

The benefit of using a high pressure burner is the high BTUs and the ability to bring up the temperature faster.

Some say low pressure burners are more fuel efficient, but will tak longer two heat up.

If you use low on your HLT and MLT just to maintain temp and high on your Boil it should be fine. or go all high, or all low, it's your rig.

I am also researching about burners, thus far this is what I know. Low pressure is around 1/2 PSI, now with that said I will give an example of a morebeer system/sculpture. What morebeer does is use a low pressure burner on it's HLT and high pressure on the MT and BK. The pressure is controlled by using a low pressure regulator, which cost under $30.00. The question is why use low pressure, well people use low pressure for SAFETY reasons. Gas valves with pilot light features and that are controlled by your Ranco,Love, or Johnson controls controller are low pressure only. So if you want a gas valve that has an auto gas shutoff to the pilot light (for safety reasons) you will need a low pressure burner attached to it. On the other hand if you are going to pay attention to your equipment and can use your eyes and have the ability to bend at the waist you can go with an all high pressure system. The safety feature of the valves is just so the gas shuts off when the flame goes out. From what I have read on HBT, low pressure banjo/hurricane burners have no trouble getting ten gallons to a boil....but if you are going to do a combo system like morebeers, then the low pressure will only be used on your HLT because you do not need to get to a boiling point with your HLT. You will only use low pressure on your HLT because the HLT will be part HLT and part water bath for your HERMS system to keep temperatures constant in the mash.

Are you going to use Propane or natural gas?

For propane, high pressure, that burner will work great.
For natural gas, low pressure, that burner is going to take forever to boil 10 gallons.

Propane is great, but it is expensive, and unless you have a propane tank hooked up to your home, it means spare tanks, and trips to the store.

Propane . I order the 5hpr30 from bayoo classic and the burners from agrisupply. Ill update once i gt them and verify that it all works together.
