I was wondering how well the weldless fitting stand up to hour long boils. Are the seals rated for that kind of heat/time?

I want to get mine welded but the welder is out of town for a few. I wanted to brew this weekend.

The silicone washers are rated well above boil temps. I use a weldless fitting and don't have a complaint in the world.

Just don't do something crazy like use the wrong kind of O-rings. Silicone O-rings are normally rated to 500F, well above boiling - and providing a margin of safety since stainless steel kegs are poor heat conductors so the metal can get quite a bit hotter than the 212F liquid it contains, even as thin as it is.
