Is there a standard sized hole for a draft tower?

I finally got permission from the wife to move the kegerator upstairs if I make it look nice. I was planning on making my own draft tower but I want to make sure I don't make the hole too big. From looking online it seems it might be four inches dia, but I want to be sure. If there's no standard sized hole to cut, I'll just stick with four inches.

The standard is usually 3" or 4". You can also find 2.5" columns. I believe most store bought kegerators come with 3" towers.

most single and double towers are 3" diameter
I used to have a brass 3 tap tower and that was 4" diameter
