ok i mostly do ales/pilsners/ambers.... but after doing some reading i would like to venture out into the heavy or high gravity side of the pool.

before i buy/dedicate a pale and carboy for around 3 months to age the wee heavy, are there any cautions i should observe? any body remember back when you decided to do a hgb and some of the things you learned along the way

I have yet to brew a wee heavy, but I have done barleywine and imperial stout.
A good part of the aging can go on in the bottle so you don't really need to tie up a pail and carboy for more than a month or so.
