Vinyl tastes nasty!

Has anyone ever noticed a nasty "plasticky" flavor imparted by their beer dispensing lines? I seem to get it only with the first 1/2-1 cup of beer only, so am assuming it's from sitting in the newer vinyl tubing.

Also, do any of you clean/sanitize your gas lines? if so, how often?

The gas lines should be fine. THe beer lines should be done with every keg. There is some debate as to what you should use for sanitizing hte beer lines. I have heard claims that star san can leach a vinyl tast from the hoses, but many disagree. I haven't had the experience.

Why don't you just pour off the first 1/2 glass after you haven't used/poured a beer in several days?

It could be just the "gunk" in the bottom of the keg when you first pour. Just dump it.
