I am an electrical noob and I want to build a ‘stand alone’ RIMS for my 20 gallon system (usually make 10 gallon batches). I have a B3-2050 full digital system; so, I have a pump and electrical switch driven by the thermometer (although I think I should ignore this existing set-up.)

I want to use a PID and continuously recirculate the wort. I hope that I can get by with a 120v set-up. I don’t mind doing any ‘gross’ temp adjustments by manually using the gas burner and using the RIMS for maintenance.

OK - I’ve read a bunch of threads; but, do you know a thread that details how to make this ‘stand alone’ device <only>. I’m hoping this won’t be too hard to do if I buy the RIMS tube.

Your help is appreciated.
