I was originally just gonna rattle one off, because i heard it this morning on Sirius and it reminded me just how bad it is, but hey, why not get a whole "bad songs that people like for some inexplicable reason" thread goin?

Here's the song that inspired it. It's just...horrible. She sounds like a horrible banshee, and the incessant "wheeenh whew woah wainh" synth loops are enough to make someone lose their mind. That, and the lyrics just blow. I'm speaking, of course, about:

Kate Bush: Running Up That Hill (Deal With God)

It just keeps going and going, she keeps shrieking, and the whole time, you're sitting there unable to understand why anyone would voluntarily listen to this song.

Anyway, so...contribute! :fro:

I was thinking of that new Buckcherry song "Sorry" the lyrics are like "well we need another song for the album, but we can't rhyme anymore. Lets watch Sesame Street and get ideas for words that rhyme..."

I cant believe that a band like this went from great songs like, "Lit up" "Don't Drink the Water" "Dirty Mind" "Porno Star" and "Time Bomb" To this sappy "I need a hug" type pop trash...

I think most of the 'music' these days falls into that category for me. I find that the majority of them are less of artists and more of capitalists.

Anything by the drop kick murphys. I live in the Boston area and they are on every 2 minutes. They suck donkey balls.

Agreed. DKM's music is good for one thing, and one thing only: to play during drunken bar brawls between angry Irishmen.

Otherwise...STFU. You think you're clever for taking Irish-sounding music and adding some modern beats and synths to it, then singing like you're a bunch of drunkards in a bar singing shanties. In reality, you sound like hack *****es.

I will throw another one out for rap/hip hop. I can't stand it. Every song sounds the same and has the same lyrics. Hell, half the time it has the "artist" plus every other hack out there. So all in all its the same people for everything, it just depends who gets their name first and who's name goes after "featuring" Plus all the videos perpetuate the idea that to be successful you need a big car, giant rims, and gold teeth, and the best way to get there is droping school, selling drugs, and being a generally useless load on society. What really bugs me is this trend is carrying over into rock/alternative as well...

I hate that one song by Carrie Underwood - Before He Cheats. Good lord no wonder he's cheating she's a psycho ***** with violent tendencies!

Can I take the easy way out and say anything on this list?

New music today sucks.

LOL - I followed the link and trying to be open minded I didn't see anything that I would give 4 minutes of my life to listen to.

I am kinda confused...what are you REALLY trying to say....
LOL

Someone please tell me what a Flo Rida is?!?!?

I think it's like everything else in hip hop or rap, unoriginal. The dude is from Florida if you can imagine that.

hey now! there is one thing to be said for new hip hop and rap... it makes the ladies dance, and the more we dance the more we drink, and the more we drink the better at stripping we get. ;)

check out the song "get low" by lil john, then check out "rap stand up" from chris rock's live show "never scared" i promise you'll laugh. :ban:

Soulja Boy- Crank that

if you've never heard this follow this link and watch the video, I think that it really adds to why this song sucks and should be hated.

Wow, I'd never listened to Crank That before---I'd seen it all over the iTunes top lists but had avoided it for obvious reasons. Now I see why it's so popular: it sucks. That's the new meme in music: if it sucks really hard, then it's top-ten-bound.

Wow, that was worse than bad. At least Li'l Jon was funny...and spawned an even funnier Chappelle's Show gag...but soulja boy appears to be worse than Master P, and that's saying a lot.
