"Proper" glassware for drinking?

Now to me, before my foray into homebrewing began, all this meant was that the container holding by beer wasn't leaking. Appearently this is not the case.

Not meaning to belittle the philosophy, nor be mercilessly flamed here, but what glass goes with what style, and just how important is this anyway?

My wife seems to think that this is a big deal, and as such we have pilsner, pint, and chemay glasses. IS there anything to this?

too tired to respond with much right now *yawn* let's just say each glass for beer is designed for a specific style and/or quantity. Belgian's are king here.

Yeah, this gets tossed around from time to time. The glass shape itself will effect several things: Aroma, Head, Carbonation and Temperature. Each specific one is indeed designed to harness certain characteristics of the beer. I used to think "Oh yeah, right" but it really is true. Now that all being said, you can put crappy beer in a glass and it will still be crappy beer
