I just bottled up a ruination clone kit from Austin home brew. It used 12 lbs of extract which put the abv at 8.3% based on my calculations. Has anyone tried this kit, and if so, how did it turn out?

Have not tried that kit but am brewing Yooper's clone (extract) today. Easy and tasty. I wouldn't worry about 8.3, should taste good though it might have a slightly boozy character.

I don't think it will taste boozy. Stone makes very well rounded beers. I have anyone ruination 10th anniversary clone going right now that has an og of 1.095. It's supposed to be over 10 percent but the bottles that I have tasted are really well balanced.
