Conversion question

I know there has been a lot of discussion on here about poor conversion of GF malts because of the lack of enzymes. This may be a stupid question but what if you were to add 3lbs of sorghum syrup to the mash water? Would that help convert the mash like adding 2 row or 6 row would help a typical mash?

Sorghum syrup doesnt have any enzymes either, the sugars in the syrup have already been converted and boiled down to syrup form.

It's a fine idea though, and one that people are trying with sweet potatoes.
