So having all day basically to think,
I have a wild and weird idea.

What is your thoughts if you took a 5gal paint stirrer that hooks up to a cordless drill and use it to help speed up the "stirring " when cooling with a wort chiller.

I was thinking it would speed up the spinning of the wort when cooling and might even drop the temp faster.

Second thought was sanitation. 3rd was heat.

Don't want to risk a batch of beer on it just to find out if it works or not.

Just get tired of stirring at times. I know laziness!!! But after a few to many brews i just want to grab some grub and be done ASAP.:tank:

Thanks for your thoughts and idea's.

People use paint stirrers to aerate their wort before pitching. There's a small chance that you'll do a little damage if you use it above 140 (the near mythical hot-side aeration) but lots of people use them to whirlpool and to aerate.
