Several months ago I had some beer at a brewpub that was billed as being made with golden promise malt. It was pretty hoppy as I recalled and I liked it a lot. I can't for the life of me remember, though, what style of beer it was supposed to be. Northern Brewer has one recipe kit using golden promise, but it is very lightly hopped.

Anyone here have any suggestions for using golden promise?

It's a base malt cultivar like Maris otter.
It can also be used by malsters to produce speciality mats.

It can be used for most beers.

I'm not sure if I'd use it for an American Pilsner.

It sounds like yo had an IPA.

It was kind of pale yellow, as I say very hoppy, maybe a little bit of a citrus flavor. I sure wish I had written down the name of it or even asked the brewpub some questions about it. I don't expect to be back there soon.
