I am looking for Pumps, I was thinking the March 809s, unless there is something better out there.
My first question, is why do so many systems have 2 pumps? Is there a point where its that much more convenient to have two? Is that so you can drain of wort and sparge at the same time?

Also, does anyone now of a good place to purchase such wares?

I batch sparge, but still use two pumps. One pumps hot water, the other pumps wort.

Less hose switching, less mess, and I have a spare in case a pump goes out.

Mine are chugger pumps, one with a plastic head, the other stainless.

Another popular option for pumps would be little giant. A little more money, but much more powerful, easier to prime, and quieter than march 809's or chugger pumps. They can also be found used a little more readily.

if you are using a HERMS system you need two for sure.

How so? A second pump would be nice, but my HERMS works just fine with a single pump.
