Working up a stout at the moment and trying to be careful about it, as my last attempt was more of a fly-by-the-seat of my pants clusterfudge that turned out practically undrinkable.

According to Hopville, this fits the category of Foreign Extra Stout. Looks to be slightly on the malty/roasty side. Any tips or comments are greatly appreciated.

2-gallon batch (approximately)

3.3 lb light LME
1/2 lb golden light DME

4 oz Special B
4 oz Roasted Barley
4 oz Crystal 60
4 oz Crystal 120

1/2 oz US Golding and 1/2 oz Cascade, both at 60 min

Safale s-05

Est OG - 1.069
Est FG - 1.018
ABV - 6.8%

SRM 31
IBU 40

Thanks!

PS. Also, does anyone think this would benefit from a little oatmeal? I'd like to bump up the stouty mouthfeel a little but I've never used it. Thoughts?
