Hi there,

Just wondering if it is possible to culture the yeast that is used in bottle conditioned commercial beer? Sort of like making yoghurt - you use a little bit of bought yoghurt for the yeast.

Now I know that you cant just add a glass of this beer like you would the yoghurt...

Is there a way to do this?

Yes you can, many beers bottle harvest and use the same strain in the bottle as they brew with, though not all, use our search function and look up "bottle Harvesting Yeast" "Yeast Harvesting" and there's some great info if you search "Bottle Harvesting Pacman" there's even a video how to on one of the pacman yeast threads.
