Any preferences or effects on flavor of beer? I read the brass isn't the healthiest way but what about chrome and stainless? Do they also contain lead?

Chrome faucets are plated brass ... beer will eat through the chrome plating. No lead in stainless.

I agree. Stainless is 30-50% more money, but about 400% better quality. Go with Perlick front-seal faucets as well. The standard ones gum up and stick if not in constant use.
