Im thinking about making some today, or tommarow since its relitivly easy. My question is can i use any kind of concerntrated apple juice, such as Motts, or somthing of that nature. Also some had mentioned making aplewien with an ale yeat to make it a little sweeter. Is this ok or should i definatly use the yeast mentioned in the aplewien thread by edwort.

Thanks
austin

reconstituted concentrated apple juice should be fine.
i used an ale yeast on some apple cider(not ed's apfewein) and it turned out ok.
truthfully i like the flavour of ed's better with the champagne yeast. - i couldn't find his recommended yeast locally so i used lavlin ec1118.
i want to find his yeast(montcharet??spelling) and compare the two

ok, thanks for the info. Im gonna go to liqour barn tommarow they are the only place around here with any kind of yeast on hand.

I would look for Apple cider or juice, I belive 100% juice is prefered Sam's choice at wal-mart works.

A pasteurized apple cider/juice from concentrate is nex best.

People have also used juice with asorbic acid (vitamin c)

The yeast is Montrachet. by Red Star

The system is slow, I will post a yeast link later
