Anyone out there have a recipe for a good Mexican Lager? I'm not talking Corona or Pacifico here, I'm looking for something good. Maybe like Negra Modelo or Bohemia...

Those two beers are actually Vienna lagers or Maerzens in style. Look for recipes under that name.

Right, there was an article on mexican lagers in one of last year's BYO. I can post arecipie when get back home.

How do the beers you guys mentioned taste different than a Corona or a Heineken ?
I just racked a Corona clone from the primary. It tastes pretty good.

I think Corona falls in to light American lager category. The beer we are talking about is from Viena/Marzen/Octoberfest category. Here is the recipe from BYO 2006 Jan-Feb:
OG = 1.052
FG = 1.013
IBU = 25
SRM = 11
ABV = 5.0%

5g:
10 lbs 12 oz Vienna malt
9 Oz CaraMinich
6.66 AAU Tettnanger (60 min)
Yeast WLP920 (Old Bavarian Lager)

Good luck.
