If I infect some dark LME solution with local bacteria, then pitch yeast a day later so that the bacteria competes and processes the alcohol into acetic acid, do I get malt vinegar? :D

Can I put it on french fries???
 
Making malt vinegar is easy. Make an unhopped beer, basically extract and add a yeast, then after it's fermented rack to another vessel and add acetobacter. It converts the alcohol into acetic acid, or vinegar. Many homebrew shops carry the vinegar making supplies, mine does. If not you can definately find it online.
 
How to make Grain Vinegar?

40 Gallons of Vinegar
to put Meat
into a 55 gal plastic Barrel,

(then BBQ the Meat)

Heinz uses Corn for some Vinegar
and Wheat for other Vinegar,

What are the Directions
to make Grain Vinegar at home?
