Minneapolis to be specific (the wife is shopping at Mall of America) and I'm looking for some good breweries/brew pubs to visit. Any thoughts?! Thanks in advance!!

Bulldogs!!!! There's one in Uptown, NE Mpls(just outside of downtown across the Hennepin Ave Bridge) and there's also one in St. Paul. I've only been to the NE one(http://www.thebulldognortheast.com/), but if you go get the rooster burger and the chicken nuggets. Food is fantastic as well.

You've also got Surly and Summit if you're looking for any local beers(not sure if thos are available in MO).

Not sure about down by the Mall, but I'll be interested to see if there are any suggestions here about that area.

Planning on taking the public transo to multiple places, I'll put Bulldog's on the list!

Any other places y'all can think of?

Not exactly what you asked and you may know this already, but both Northern Brewer and Midwest Supplies are headquartered in the Twin Cities. Might be worth a visit if you need some brewing supplies.

Town Hall would be priority #1.http://www.townhallbrewery.com/ Barley John's is great also, http://www.barleyjohns.com/ though a bit farther away. Go to Fulton Beer website, http://www.fultonbeer.com/the-beer and look for locations they have their beer, GREAT upstart beer that you will only find in the cities..... MN craft brewers guild http://www.mncraftbrew.org/member-breweries is also a good site for ideas of beers in MN. Surly, Summit, Town Hall, Fulton, Flat Earth, Harriet Island are all worth the cost of a pour.

Cheers....

Thanks for all your responses! The public transportation thing limited us, but we drove by NorthernBrewer's retail store in the morning; took the lightrail to downtown and hit up townhall brewery (awesome place!); and hit Rock Bottom before coming back (I know its not local but they tend to have good beers).

Thanks again!

I'm going to take a trip back up there at the end of April for my birthday. I'm hitting up The Happy Gnome, The Muddy Pig, Northern Brewer, Town Hall, and going to the Ale Jail/Wine Thief to stock up on some Stone and a few other beers i can't get in Iowa. The Happy Gnome is doing a Founder's tasting that I am looking forward to, as I have yet to try any of their beers.
