Does anyone have the formula to calculate the sugar contents based of gravity readings? I am writing a database and want to include information to where present gravity and needed gravity are entered and it will display ounces of sugar to add. I just use a written table now but hey, I'm a computer geek!
 
If I understand your question, you don't need to calculate the sugars from the gravity...

corn sugar adds 46 points of gravity, per pound, per gallon. So to figure out how much sugar you need:

Lbs of sugar = [(desired grav - current grav) *1000*gallons] / 46

Ex: you have 5 gallons of 1.050, and want 1.060:

Lbs of sugar = [(1.060 - 1.050)*1000]* 5 / 46 = 1.1
 
1 degree Brix is 1 gram of sugar per 100 grams of wine. Honey is about 80% sugar, so every degree would be 1.25 grams of honey.

[1 degree Brix is about 4 points]
