I was using an old digital kitchen thermometer for my brewing purposes but the probe finally took a poop when the silicone insulation cracked and allowed liquid to directly contact the wires giving me readings of over 250* when they got wet. It still works fine when it stays dry though.

Anyway, Im looking for a new thermometer probe that can be dropped into the MLT and be waterproof without needing any sleeving over the probe.

Anyone think this device fits the bill? If not can you suggest something please.

should be fine. i use one like this with no problems. i generally adjust the tip of the probe to about 2 or 3 inches above the grain bed, so it only gets water measurements. seems to work for me.
