Hello my friends,

I am making my herms system, and I have one steel part in it that is in contact with the water as it recirculates through the side of the mash tun. The thing is easy to dissemble and dry after use to try to prevent in from rusting.

Is some rusty items in brewing dangerous?

I was wondering if there are any safety issues with using this one item, although it isn't stainless? What care should be taken.

I could see rust impacting taste. Not sure of dangers but I would change the part out for stainless.
