Does anyone have any experience using this stuff as a clarifier, I gave it a shot and added it to my cider I'm just hoping it won't throw it off in any way.

Yep, used it successfully a few times now. Typically on batches which are not clearing as planned in secondary. A 5 gallon carboy will drop almost an inch of sediment with a few teaspoons, similar to the first addition of pectinase. Mixing the bentonite into a slurry can be a total pain though as it tends to clump up. I typically add it to liquid, mix as best I can, then wait overnight to allow the clay to absorb the water naturally before mixing again to an even consistency and adding it.

Have not ever noticed any off flavors or negative impacts.

I would prefer to filter, but don't have that ability at home.
