ive never had a rye beer before but the rest of the recipe looks really tasty. i made a pale ale with NB bittering and cascade finish which was delicious. what is the rye ingredient and how does it affect the brew?

Looks good. If it were me I'd reduce the cascade flavouring addition as it will cover up some of the nice flavour of the rye. But that would just be personal preference, the recipe looks great.
