Just poured my first glass of my own homebrew an Imperial IPA. Not world-beating by any means, but definitely a tasty and satisfying quaff. How about that? Now I have something to drink while I brew up some blonde ale using all the tips and tricks I've picked up here over the last 4 weeks.

Congrats and welcome to the addiction. If your first beer turned out well you are on the right track

Wow, your first homebrew was an IIPA... awesome! I probably should have started with something as hoppy to make up for off flavors.

hah! good point. the off flavors are there - i think it fermented too warm - but they aren't bothersome in something i made myself. and maybe it'll mellow out some after a few more weeks in bottle.
