Ebay 5 Gallon Paint Strainer

Just came across this, and was thinking it would be great for me to strain into my primary. I don't have a brewpot with a spout, so I always pour mine into my bucket. It also helps with aeration. Just curious, should I order the 200 400 or the 600 micron one? I was thinking the 600.

Actually, I think it would clog up almost immediately, rendering it useless. But hey, I guess I could be wrong.

I've been using a nylon net that fits over the rim of a primary bucket. You can get them at brew stores or on-line. Mine are 14 years and still going strong.

I pour the hot wort throught them and sparge ANYTHING that's captured in there. Works like a charm every time.

Just be sure to hold them in place with 6 clip-on clothes pins so the weight of the water and hops doesn't pull the wort into the bucket. Trust me on this one.

I think it would work to strain out some of the trub from your boil for sure.
