Hello I am new to the forum and pretty new to brewing.

I have brewd three in the past 6 months. All three time my readings have been like this:

Original: 1.043
Final: 1.012

Is that OK or what. I've read I am supposed to be at 1.040 then 1.010 so just wondered what the deal is.

Thanks for any Ideas.

Where you're "supposed to be" depends on the details of each individual recipe.

But those readings you've gotten were in a perfectly good range for a moderate alcohol beer with a decne mouthfeel (i.e. not watery tasting).

FG estimates are always a bit of a guess, so you should never expect them to be spot on.

It depends on your recipe. Are those readings temperature corrected?

As they are now, your beers are coming in at 4.1% abv.

You are getting 72% attenuation, which is good. Much more than that in a basic ale would make for a very dry brew.
