I just received two Mt Hood rhizomes today. Can I expect to use this variety like Hallertau or this one much different? Any suggested recipies for this variety?

Mt. Hood hops are a hardier strain designed to be a substitute for Hallertauer, Tettnanger, or Saaz. There's plenty of hop substitution charts on the internet that'll tell you what varieties are good to sub in when your favorite ones are out of stock at the LHBS.
